TOEIC stands for Test Of English for International Communication.
TOEIC is an internationally recognized test of business English. TOEIC results conform to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEF), which is a system used to compare levels for teaching and testing languages in Europe and which was developed by the Council of Europe in order to set clear, attainable standards at different levels of language learning for European languages.
TOEIC was developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), which is also responsible for TOEFL and the SAT (the entrance examination for all American universities.)
TOEIC has existed since 1979. 4.5 million candidates sit the TOEIC test every year and it is the leading test of business English in the world. Hundreds of international companies trust TOEIC, e.g. Air France, Allianz, Alstom, Andersen Consulting, Aventis, Bosch-Siemens, Coca Cola, Compaq, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Elf, Ford, Kodak, Lucent Technologies, Siemens, Tetra Pak...
TOEIC is reliable, can be taken at short notice – even for individual candidates – and competitively priced. Results are available after one week. And because TOEIC is an objective level test based on a point system, you can't „fail".
The test consists of 200 multiple-choice questions: 100 listening questions (using a CD) and 100 reading comprehension questions. It takes 2 hours.
€ 120 per candidate for an individual test sitting (including 19% VAT)
