What does TOEIC stand for?
TOEIC stands for Test Of English for International Communication.
What is TOEIC?
TOEIC is an internationally recognized test of business English. TOEIC results conform to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEF), which is a system used to compare levels for teaching and testing languages in Europe and which was developed by the Council of Europe in order to set clear, attainable standards at different levels of language learning for European languages.
Where does TOEIC come from?
TOEIC was developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), which is also responsible for TOEFL and the SAT (the entrance examination for all American universities.)
How well known is TOEIC?
TOEIC has existed since 1979. 4.5 million candidates sit the TOEIC test every year and it is the leading test of business English in the world. How is the TOEIC test structured?
The test consists of 200 multiple-choice questions: 100 listening questions (using a CD) and 100 reading comprehension questions. It takes 2 hours.
What does it cost to sit a TOEIC test?
€ 120 per candidate for an individual test sitting (including 19% VAT)
Where and when can you take the TOEIC test?
- At your company: for groups of 6 or more candidates test sittings can be arranged at short notice (2 - 3 weeks). The price depends on the number of candidates and test sittings.
